Replenishment is the process of moving inventory from bulk storage (reserve) to active picking locations (forward pick). If replenishment isn't configured correctly, pickers will arrive at empty locations, causing delays, order bottlenecks, and dropped pick tasks.
Manhattan WMS utilizes dynamic replenishment rules. These can be triggered on-demand (when a wave requires more stock than is currently in the forward pick location) or min-max based (when stock falls below a predefined threshold).
During interviews, discuss the importance of prioritizing replenishment tasks over picking tasks. After all, you cannot pick what is not there. Configuring priority levels for task types ensures the warehouse floor operates without costly interruptions.
